One performance I particularly enjoyed at Big Chill was Andreya Triana’s. I’d been been feeling a bit overloaded and escaped into a random tent to find Andreya getting ready to perform. It was a nice change of pace and she gave this aura of total serenity and intense focus all in one.

It perked me up and just in case there aren’t many reviews knocking about of her performance at Big Chill here are a few images. Hopefully I’ll get a chance to photograph her again soon.

Yeah yeah I know its been a while…

Better post something, had a good time covering Big Chill this year. I was sad to find the festival arena had shrunk and the film stages had disappeared, however the performances were good. Kanye did his little rant, Chemical Brothers blew minds, Rodrigo y Gabriela were a fantastic close but honestly I only decided to shoot it because I wanted to watch Chris Cunningham on the last night.

I know, I know, why didn’t I catch him at the Roundhouse?  Well I was going to when it was scheduled for March, then it got rescheduled for June and by the time I got round to it again it was bloody booked up and I wasn’t going to take one of the seats behind the big columns. So I camped for several nights, drank very chloriney water, ate very good vegetarian lasagne at the Hurly Burly cafe and enjoyed the acts.

Jessie J was surprisingly down to Earth for someone who’s been sky rocketed into popularity.

Told you the updates would be erratic.
I do quite a bit of Retouching for other Photographers so I’ve added a new page to my site of Retouching Before/After commissions. View them here
Personally I love looking at before and afters on Retoucher sites, its fascinating.

Making some improvements to the Band Index Pages over the next few weeks including an illustration per band. I’ve included the first one for Atari Teenage Riot above which will be added to their page on my site soon. The sound sample is used with permission from the lovely Nic Endo.

Let me know what you think.

Ok so the first post with some genuine content. My website, available to view here (click image).
My site will be updated periodically (read: erratically and without warning). Point of interest at the moment is the ‘Band Index’ pages where I am adding some of my favourite band images, also the sketchbook page where I will be updating illustrations… actually its pointless me posting this its best just to click and the link and save my aging keyboard the strain of writing descriptions. CLICK IT!

First Class Post

OK, so this is officially the first post.

I’m not making any promises, before blogging I practiced a little bit and took a few baby steps with Twitter. But as everyone knows you are only ever one step away from making harmless jokes to sending irate Tweets to celebrities you dislike, and, in the UK, everyone knows there’s plenty of them. So, as a disclaimer, like the East Midlands Train Line, any readers may be in for a bumpy ride.

But back to the important stuff, my website and what I’m doing, that ranges from eating bagels to shooting bands and other subject matter, by shooting I mean taking photographs, unless its a boyband, then I literally mean shooting. I will try to filter out the bullshit so that any posts are like nuggets of pure gold.

I would say ‘enjoy’ but I think that’s pushing it a bit…
